The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fethi Ulusoy during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 5 minutes into the game, one of Kartalspor:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sait Uğuz had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Berkan Tolga's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sait Uğuz having to interfere. The supporters of Milli Gençlik booed when Kartalspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nurettin Candar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Milli Gençlik's Korkutalp Özengin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sait Uğuz. Sait Uğuz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. During the 18th minute of the match Nurettin Candar completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nurettin Candar a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. With a little luck, Kartalspor's Sait Uğuz got control of the ball when Korkutalp Özengin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sait Uğuz was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes Milli Gençlik got a freekick which was hit by Besim Alpaslan. Korkutalp Özengin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 44th playminute. 48 minutes into the match, Kartalspor's goal looked a bit too open when Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu came free, but Sait Uğuz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dinçer Fırıncıoğlu to make the kick off. When the referee ended the match the Milli Gençlik players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
