The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hasan Ali Uzman scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Turgut Ugraş, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kovancilar's Hasan Ali Uzman got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baturalp Ergünay might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustafa Arif Evcimen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baturalp Ergünay ran back to his position shaking his head. 10 minutes into the game, Kovancilar's Kutalp Sidar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Turgut Ugraş made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 14th minute, Hasan Ali Uzman made a precise shot to the right of Turgut Ugraş. Kelkit's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Kutalp Sidar succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. In the 21st minute, Yıldıray Sayın hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Kelkit booed when Kovancilar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayrullah Onursay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Turgut Ugraş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hasan Ali Uzman in the 38th minute of the match. Kovancilar's Kutalp Sidar got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Kovancilar booed when Kelkit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vacib Somer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hasan Ali Uzman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Turgut Ugraş made a huge save. 62 minutes into the game, Hasan Ali Uzman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Turgut Ugraş was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kutalp Sidar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 69th minute, Kutalp Sidar fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by İskender Baki Lut in the 73rd minute of play forced Kovancilar's goalkeeper Mustafa Arif Evcimen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Baturalp Ergünay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Kovancilar's goal looked a bit too open when İskender Baki Lut came free, but Mustafa Arif Evcimen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hasan Ali Uzman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Turgut Ugraş having to interfere. 84 minutes into the game, Kutalp Sidar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Turgut Ugraş. Kutalp Sidar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. Gencalp Taygun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kelkit's Yıldıray Sayın was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mustafa Arif Evcimen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 95 played minutes Kovancilar got a freekick which was hit by Hasan Ali Uzman. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 2-8 when Baturalp Ergünay sped through Kovancilar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mustafa Arif Evcimen. When the final whistle sounded Kovancilar left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kelkit.
