Menderes Sehim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Abdulkadir Bülbül dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Menderes Sehim, 1-0. After 9 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Vatan Temirkut. In the 12th minute, Doruk Ayçetin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Çeliker Tolgan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Göktan Özbekkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafet Işıner in the 19th minute of play. Göktan Özbekkan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafet Işıner in the 22nd minute of the match. Doruk Ayçetin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Menderes Sehim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çeliker Tolgan in the 35th minute of play forced Zonguldak sk's goalkeeper Menderes Sehim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Zonguldak sk booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halit Fahri Ergül didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Galatasaray's Vatan Temirkut tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

Doruk Ayçetin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Doruk Ayçetin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göksun Nursal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göktan Özbekkan having to interfere. A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Abdulkadir Bülbül hit a great ball. In the last second Göktan Özbekkan throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rafet Işıner in the 73rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Göksun Nursal in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Göktan Özbekkan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doruk Ayçetin in the 79th minute of play forced Zonguldak sk's goalkeeper Menderes Sehim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Menderes Sehim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Çeliker Tolgan in the 82nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abdulkadir Bülbül during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zonguldak sk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Göksun Nursal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Galatasaray fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zonguldak sk had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
