Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Celal Savni took the kick off in the first half of the match. Şevket Kantara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürcan Uçuk in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Murat Yalman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nafiz Aydın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Fatih Oktar in the 16th minute of play. Murat Yalman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şevket Kantara having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Gürcan Uçuk recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Şevket Kantara. Gürcan Uçuk showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Giresunspor's Sermet Nevzat got a free kick in the 24th minute. Samim Boysel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute, Efekan Rıfat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eyüp Otaç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gönen's Murat Yalman got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Giresunspor's goalkeeper Şevket Kantara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Murat Yalman. Şevket Kantara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gürcan Uçuk in the 44th minute of play. Gürcan Uçuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şevket Kantara having to interfere. Murat Yalman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Oğuzalp Timuroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gönen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Giresunspor the free kick. Oğuzalp Timuroz kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gürcan Uçuk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şevket Kantara was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Şevket Kantara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murat Yalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Şevket Kantara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Murat Yalman went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Murat Yalman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giresunspor's Şevket Kantara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gürcan Uçuk in the 67th minute of play. If Gürcan Uçuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gürcan Uçuk in the 73rd minute of play forced Giresunspor's goalkeeper Şevket Kantara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nafiz Aydın made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mehmet Fatih Oktar in the 78th minute. Gönen were furious when Boğaç Şirvan was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. In the 88th minute Samim Boysel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şevket Kantara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gönen's attentive Efekan Rıfat managed to snatch the ball when Anıl Mücahit Nurbay made a throw-in in the 97th minute of the game. When Efekan Rıfat came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Gönen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efekan Rıfat couldn't finish the play. Murat Yalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Efekan Rıfat hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Gönen were the better team. Gönen's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
