The audience thought a goal was coming when Doğa Çalkın got free with Bahattin Orgun in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Merinos JK's Doğa Çalkın got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Doğa Çalkın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the match, Batu Cem Özbala had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abay Temizkanoğlu. Merinos JK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Batu Cem Özbala was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bahattin Orgun acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mustafa Emrah Çetinsoy. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bulancak's goalkeeper Bahattin Orgun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Orhun Zabit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abay Temizkanoğlu having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Doğa Çalkın made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Orhun Zabit cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Abay Temizkanoğlu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bahattin Orgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferhat Yazargil, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Orhun Zabit got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 62 played minutes Bulancak got a freekick which was hit by Abdulbaki Ergüleç. In the 68th minute Doğa Çalkın shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bahattin Orgun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Bulancak defense, Doğa Çalkın kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bahattin Orgun. The Bulancak fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bahattin Orgun should have stopped the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Doğa Çalkın notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Bulancak's Bahattin Orgun. Bahattin Orgun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Bulancak defense, Necip Fazıl Levent kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bahattin Orgun. The Bulancak fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bahattin Orgun should have stopped the shot. After 83 played minutes Merinos JK got a freekick which was hit by Necip Fazıl Levent. When Abdülhak İstikbal fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merinos JK's protests and gave Abdülhak İstikbal a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Merinos JK's Abdülhak İstikbal got a free kick in the 87th minute. When Batu Cem Özbala came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Bulancak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Batu Cem Özbala couldn't finish the play. Bahattin Orgun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doğa Çalkın, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Merinos JK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bulancak had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
