Cihangir SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hisarönü the free kick. The supporters of Hisarönü booed when Cihangir SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kuddusî Orcaner didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Muhammet Yakup in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vahdet Torehan saved Cihangir SK from getting behind. After some careless play in the Hisarönü defense, Karadeniz Seccac kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Asrın Okan. The Hisarönü fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Asrın Okan should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute, Necip Fazıl Tanyeli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Cihangir SK's Karadeniz Seccac sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Asrın Okan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Necip Fazıl Tanyeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Behzat Cantez was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, one of Cihangir SK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Murathan Ülkümen walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After the first half Cihangir SK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Necip Fazıl Tanyeli was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Tarkan Akyazı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hisarönü's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarkan Akyazı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vahdet Torehan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cihangir SK booed when Hisarönü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özer Saadettin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Necip Fazıl Tanyeli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galip Taşdan might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Asrın Okan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Galip Taşdan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 69th match minute, Cihangir SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kadir Şenaltan to maneuver through the defense. Murathan Ülkümen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vahdet Torehan. Cihangir SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vahdet Torehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muhammet Yakup in the 73rd minute of play. Tarkan Akyazı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, Muhammet Yakup cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vahdet Torehan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cihangir SK's Necip Fazıl Tanyeli got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Necip Fazıl Tanyeli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Asrın Okan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Galip Taşdan's late challenge caught a Hisarönü's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Galip Taşdan helped the player get up and apologised. Galip Taşdan hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After 92 minutes Cihangir SK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Murathan Ülkümen who took care of the corner kick. Vahdet Torehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarkan Akyazı in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Galip Taşdan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the game, Hisarönü's Tarkan Akyazı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vahdet Torehan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Despite being the better team, Cihangir SK failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
