The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Ankaragücü's zone, Ahmet Ali Özdurdu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Battal Gazi Nafiz came out of the goal and Ahmet Ali Özdurdu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ankaragücü getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Aycan Türkol hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Ahmet Ali Özdurdu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute Bahattin Pamir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Battal Gazi Nafiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ankaragücü's goalkeeper Battal Gazi Nafiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Bahattin Pamir kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Battal Gazi Nafiz. That made the score 2-0 in the 38 minute of play. If Ahmet Ali Özdurdu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Bahattin Pamir made a precise shot to the right of Battal Gazi Nafiz. Ankaragücü's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bahattin Pamir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Bahattin Pamir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edremit SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bahattin Pamir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Battal Gazi Nafiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Ali Özdurdu in the 58th minute of play. Okaner Bozok fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arif Nihat Ülküm having to interfere. Anıl Berk Dolunay kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Ankaragücü's Alpay Uluerkan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arif Nihat Ülküm. Arif Nihat Ülküm yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Battal Gazi Nafiz came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Edremit SK's Ahmet Ali Özdurdu. But to his dismay, Ahmet Ali Özdurdu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. If Bahattin Pamir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Bahattin Pamir had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Battal Gazi Nafiz. Ankaragücü's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bahattin Pamir was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Alpay Uluerkan hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Bahattin Pamir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Battal Gazi Nafiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Artaç Arıbaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Edremit SK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
