The Derbent SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ceyhun Sina should have stopped the shot. Üzeyir Kolçak struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Bülent Kaşif didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derbent SK. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Evren SK's goalkeeper Bülent Kaşif, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Asım İlbey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bülent Kaşif having to interfere. A collision led to Derbent SK getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Asım İlbey hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Derbent SK's goalkeeper Ceyhun Sina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Özer Cespan. Derbent SK's Asım İlbey got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bülent Kaşif showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Üzeyir Kolçak, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Asım İlbey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45th play minutes Üzeyir Kolçak shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Bülent Kaşif and just under the crossbar into goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Üzeyir Kolçak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Derbent SK's goal looked a bit too open when Özer Cespan came free, but Ceyhun Sina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Üzeyir Kolçak might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bülent Kaşif. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Üzeyir Kolçak ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 69 in the game by Asım İlbey from a close distance when the talented Bülent Kaşif managed to make a qualified save. Evren SK's players were relieved. Üzeyir Kolçak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zafer Volkan during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Derbent SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Birol Süleymanoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes in the game, Asım İlbey fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bülent Kaşif having to interfere. Asım İlbey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Bülent Kaşif made a huge save. When the match was over Derbent SK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Evren SK throughout the match.
