Yalçın Tancan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yavuz Selimhan Onkal, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Yalçın Tancan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yavuz Selimhan Onkal went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Yalçın Tancan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Selimhan Onkal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yalçın Tancan came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Galata SK's Basri Mutlutekin. But to his dismay, Basri Mutlutekin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kocaeli idman yurdu's goalkeeper Yalçın Tancan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hazar Taylan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kocaeli idman yurdu's Yalçın Tancan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yavuz Selimhan Onkal in the 24th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Kocaeli idman yurdu's Eralp Barlas threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hazar Taylan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 33rd minute Yavuz Selimhan Onkal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yalçın Tancan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hadi Ongu hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The supporters of Kocaeli idman yurdu booed when Galata SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alim Üstün didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hazar Taylan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ömer Atasoy in the 51st minute of play forced Galata SK's goalkeeper Eralp Barlas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ömer Atasoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yavuz Selimhan Onkal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yalçın Tancan having to interfere. The supporters of Kocaeli idman yurdu booed when Galata SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arda Ula didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basri Mutlutekin might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yalçın Tancan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basri Mutlutekin ran back to his position shaking his head. Ömer Atasoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Eralp Barlas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yavuz Selimhan Onkal scored 0-5 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yalçın Tancan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the match, Kocaeli idman yurdu's Ömer Atasoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eralp Barlas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Yavuz Selimhan Onkal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 95 minutes, Yavuz Selimhan Onkal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galata SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yavuz Selimhan Onkal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Galata SK played a much better game than Kocaeli idman yurdu and deserved their victory. The Kocaeli idman yurdu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
