After 15 played minutes FENERBAHÇE got a freekick which was hit by Yüce Okhan. After some careless play in the Hârizmşah defense, Bayındır Mehmet Demircan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nurtekin Hadi. The Hârizmşah fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nurtekin Hadi should have stopped the shot. Atak Cihangir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Garip Bintuğ made a huge save. Ahmet Bedri Dirsehan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nurtekin Hadi having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bayındır Mehmet Demircan in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nurtekin Hadi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute Baysal Abay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garip Bintuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
