Spectators: 6535 (Terracing: 5435, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Başaran Sezgen started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Başaran Sezgen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garip Bintuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes, Başaran Sezgen made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FENERBAHÇE's Garip Bintuğ tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22ndth minute of the game Ferhan Üstay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FENERBAHÇE's Garip Bintuğ was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deniz Tokuşhan in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garip Bintuğ saved FENERBAHÇE from getting behind. 28 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE's goal looked a bit too open when Deniz Tokuşhan came free, but Garip Bintuğ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garip Bintuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Başaran Sezgen in the 30th minute of play. Ferhan Üstay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Mehmet Akif Yanıker notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FENERBAHÇE's Garip Bintuğ. Garip Bintuğ was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Garip Bintuğ, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Gevas JK booed when FENERBAHÇE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kamuran Recep didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Başaran Sezgen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmet Bedri Dirsehan to make the kick off. FENERBAHÇE's Garip Bintuğ proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save FENERBAHÇE from getting a goal against them. Başaran Sezgen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Garip Bintuğ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gevas JK's Başaran Sezgen in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FENERBAHÇE's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hasan Tahsin Urluk during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FENERBAHÇE's Hasan Tahsin Urluk got a free kick in the 56th minute. Deniz Tokuşhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Garip Bintuğ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Başaran Sezgen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute of the match, Ahmet Vefik Arpacı tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Garip Bintuğ saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 68 minutes of play, FENERBAHÇE's Ahmet Bedri Dirsehan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bora Han Tolgahan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Deniz Tokuşhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Garip Bintuğ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Deniz Tokuşhan came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Gevas JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deniz Tokuşhan couldn't finish the play. Başaran Sezgen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferhan Üstay scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Garip Bintuğ, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferhan Üstay got free with Garip Bintuğ in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in FENERBAHÇE's zone, Deniz Tokuşhan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garip Bintuğ came out of the goal and Deniz Tokuşhan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garip Bintuğ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Başaran Sezgen, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Kamuran Recep hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FENERBAHÇE's zone, Başaran Sezgen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garip Bintuğ came out of the goal and Başaran Sezgen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ferhan Üstay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FENERBAHÇE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gevas JK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
