Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5423, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Naci Özakay started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in PSV Eindhoven's zone, Naci Özakay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurtuluş Ugraş came out of the goal and Naci Özakay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 4 minutes into the match, PSV Eindhoven's goal looked a bit too open when Naci Özakay came free, but Kurtuluş Ugraş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th match minute, PSV Eindhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atacan Sulhi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Vedat Tuğkun in the 10th minute of play forced Beşiktaş's goalkeeper Baykal Mithat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Ali Vedat Tuğkun dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Baykal Mithat, 2-0. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind PSV Eindhoven's goalkeeper Kurtuluş Ugraş, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute of the match PSV Eindhoven got a corner. Beşiktaş's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nedim Türkyılmaz ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on PSV Eindhoven's corner Nedim Türkyılmaz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Baykal Mithat quite easily take care of the ball. Abdi Saygın Özinan's late challenge caught a PSV Eindhoven's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdi Saygın Özinan helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Beşiktaş! Tan Kadıoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurtuluş Ugraş having to interfere. A collision led to PSV Eindhoven getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Oğuzhan Seciye hit a great ball. Baykal Mithat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Vedat Tuğkun, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Naci Özakay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Kurtuluş Ugraş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Birol Yesari during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. PSV Eindhoven's Ali Vedat Tuğkun got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, Beşiktaş was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aktaç Danış to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes of play Beşiktaş's Abdi Saygın Özinan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Ali Vedat Tuğkun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baykal Mithat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Vedat Tuğkun, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Baykal Mithat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Vedat Tuğkun in the 78th minute of the match. Ali Vedat Tuğkun scored 4-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baykal Mithat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arkın Kutsalmis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baykal Mithat having to make a save. Beşiktaş's Baykal Mithat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Vedat Tuğkun in the 93rd minute of play. Ali Vedat Tuğkun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baykal Mithat having to interfere. If Ali Vedat Tuğkun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PSV Eindhoven walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
