Berkem Gülerce took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ömer Öğün. Ömer Öğün dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 38 minutes of play, Istanbul's Mahir Polat made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ömer Öğün was left in no man's land by his defense there! Berkem Gülerce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ömer Öğün tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Istanbul's goal looked a bit too open when Nusret İnciroğlu came free, but Alişan Cihaner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Berkem Gülerce to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mahir Polat got free with Ömer Öğün in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the game, Mahir Polat recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ömer Öğün. Mahir Polat showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. With a little luck, Eskişehirspor's Ömer Öğün got control of the ball when Mahir Polat tried to sneak it across the goal line.
