Arif Sarih dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Doğaner Ruhsan put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Efekan Koçaş. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vacid Oytunç in the 11th minute of play forced TRABZONSPOR's goalkeeper Arif Sarih to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Güneş İçten in the 13th minute of play forced Yenikapi's goalkeeper Efekan Koçaş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes, Cihat Settar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yenikapi and the TRABZONSPOR players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Yenikapi! Arif Sarih showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sezai Sarıalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Güneş İçten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, TRABZONSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Ceyhun Baştürk came free, but Arif Sarih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Efekan Koçaş successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Güneş İçten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of TRABZONSPOR booed when Yenikapi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sezai Sarıalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Efekan Koçaş managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when TRABZONSPOR's Doğaner Ruhsan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Müfit Energin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Efekan Koçaş made a huge save. Mustafa Numan Lütfi kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Arif Sarih made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceyhun Baştürk in the 41st minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Güneş İçten to strike the kick off in the second half. If Doğaner Ruhsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Mustafa Numan Lütfi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Sungur Sözer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and TRABZONSPOR's Arif Sarih didn't even have to move. TRABZONSPOR's Arif Sarih played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tanju Subutay in the 69th minute of play. Arif Sarih made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tanju Subutay in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Yenikapi's goal looked a bit too open when Güneş İçten came free, but Efekan Koçaş reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Vacid Oytunç shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Sarih saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efekan Koçaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Güneş İçten in the 78th minute of play. After 79th play minutes Müfit Energin shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Efekan Koçaş and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doğaner Ruhsan in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Efekan Koçaş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arif Sarih made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Sezai Sarıalp sent off a good shot on target. TRABZONSPOR's Arif Sarih proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save TRABZONSPOR from getting a goal against them.
