The Bostanli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nusret Ağyar should have stopped the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Korhan Sabih notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Galatasaray's Necmi Karataş. Necmi Karataş was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Asım Arif Yıldız sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Korhan Sabih received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Necmi Karataş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Korhan Sabih in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Necmi Karataş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute of the match Behiç Aköz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Necmi Karataş showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 42nd minute, Yaşar Nuri Hamurcuoğlu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Necmi Karataş was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The supporters of Bostanli booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Metehan Onsal didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Korhan Sabih to make the kick off. When Aygün Candemir fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bostanli's protests and gave Aygün Candemir a yellow card for diving instead.
