If Orçun Afak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Farende got a freekick which was hit by Cemil Sehrud. After a defensive mix-up in Farende's zone, Ali Galip Salcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deniz Okergun came out of the goal and Ali Galip Salcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Orçun Afak took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Namık Kemal Ortanca to make any attempt to save it. 41 minutes into the game, Birsel Şamil recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Namık Kemal Ortanca. Birsel Şamil showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Smyrna Spor's zone, Birsel Şamil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Namık Kemal Ortanca came out of the goal and Birsel Şamil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Efe Tecelli was the one to do the kick off. Ahmet Efe Tecelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ali Ömer Ağca kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Namık Kemal Ortanca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orçun Afak in the 63rd minute of play. Ali Galip Salcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Deniz Okergun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Farende booed when Smyrna Spor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kuzey Dinçay didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Güral Ballıoğlu during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Deniz Okergun came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Smyrna Spor's Ali Galip Salcan. But to his dismay, Ali Galip Salcan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Birsel Şamil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Namık Kemal Ortanca was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Ali Galip Salcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deniz Okergun having to interfere.
