Ecevit Berat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Varto's goal looked a bit too open when Burç Ongunalp came free, but Hakkı Devrim İpekçi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match Yücel Laçin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ecevit Berat skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Turan Nurettin in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ecevit Berat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. İskender Baki Çapan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, İskender Baki Çapan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varto's supporters rose to their feet, but İskender Baki Çapan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ecevit Berat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Turan Nurettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, Turan Nurettin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ecevit Berat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute, Turan Nurettin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ecevit Berat was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After having played for 44 minutes, Aytunç Sadir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aytunç Sadir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47thth minute of the game Turan Nurettin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1930 Bafraspor's Ecevit Berat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Burç Ongunalp was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Aytunç Sadir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1930 Bafraspor the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Varto's zone, Burç Ongunalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hakkı Devrim İpekçi came out of the goal and Burç Ongunalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hakkı Devrim İpekçi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burç Ongunalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turan Nurettin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Varto's Aytunç Sadir nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ecevit Berat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Burç Ongunalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecevit Berat was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Turan Nurettin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Turan Nurettin really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. 1930 Bafraspor's Ecevit Berat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save 1930 Bafraspor from getting a goal against them. 1930 Bafraspor's Ecevit Berat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turan Nurettin in the 89th minute of play. İskender Baki Çapan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Ecevit Berat when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the 1930 Bafraspor defense, İskender Baki Çapan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ecevit Berat. The 1930 Bafraspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ecevit Berat should have stopped the shot.
