Seyhun Ulusoy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Özcan Ulusoy went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Sinop's Seyhun Ulusoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Özcan Ulusoy in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Işıkalp Pekdeger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fırat Başbuğoğlu. Catalcesme's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Işıkalp Pekdeger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Sinop's Baykan Balkanlı got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Seyhun Ulusoy came out of the goal and Yıldıray Doğa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Işıkalp Pekdeger in the 42nd minute of play forced Catalcesme's goalkeeper Fırat Başbuğoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Özcan Ulusoy made the kick off in the second half. Baykan Balkanlı's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fırat Başbuğoğlu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fırat Başbuğoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şeref Yazganalp in the 58th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Catalcesme got a freekick which was hit by Yıldıray Doğa. After 78 played minutes, Sinop's Baykan Balkanlı shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fırat Başbuğoğlu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sinop reached it. Fırat Başbuğoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şeref Yazganalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Işıkalp Pekdeger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Işıkalp Pekdeger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Catalcesme's goalkeeper Fırat Başbuğoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Şeref Yazganalp. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
