After having played for 21 minutes, Şinasi Varol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EREĞLİ.SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Şinasi Varol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bican Serter hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. If Altuğ Öztanır had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enver Akman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yusuf Çaykara in the 35th minute. 41 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's goal looked a bit too open when Şinasi Varol came free, but Enver Akman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yusuf Çaykara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Enver Akman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Şinasi Varol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

51 minutes into the game, Yavuz Selim Uçkun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GÖZTEPE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EREĞLİ.SK the free kick. After a rather tough play, GÖZTEPE's Yavuz Selim Uçkun got a free kick in the 51st minute. Ege Süreyya made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Gazi Yasık sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th match minute, GÖZTEPE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hazım Cerit to maneuver through the defense. If Yusuf Çaykara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of EREĞLİ.SK booed when GÖZTEPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gazi Yasık didn't get a good kick on the ball. Poyraz Kocaker's late challenge caught a GÖZTEPE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Poyraz Kocaker helped the player get up and apologised. Poyraz Kocaker kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. GÖZTEPE's Enver Akman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yusuf Çaykara in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, one of GÖZTEPE:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for GÖZTEPE. After a defensive mix-up in GÖZTEPE's zone, Şinasi Varol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enver Akman came out of the goal and Şinasi Varol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ege Süreyya made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gazi Yasık in the 97th minute. Ege Süreyya didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gazi Yasık went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the EREĞLİ.SK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
