Spectators: 7253 (Terracing: 5441, Seating: 1668, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Oktay Ömür took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Karesi's goal looked a bit too open when Eşref Şimşek came free, but Zühtü Başat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cenap Sarif during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SAMSUNSPOR booed when Karesi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cenap Sarif didn't get a good kick on the ball. Şerif Kılıçaslan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cenap Sarif in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute Alper Taciroğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şerif Kılıçaslan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duman Ruhittin in the 13th minute of play forced SAMSUNSPOR's goalkeeper Şerif Kılıçaslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Duman Ruhittin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Duman Ruhittin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Şerif Kılıçaslan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zühtü Başat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eşref Şimşek in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oktay Ömür in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zühtü Başat saved Karesi from getting behind. A collision led to Karesi getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Merih Tokuş hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Karesi's Doruk İnciroğlu got a free kick in the 37th minute. Oktay Ömür sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the match, Karesi's goalkeeper Zühtü Başat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eşref Şimşek. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alper Taciroğlu was the one to do the kick off. Şerif Kılıçaslan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merih Tokuş in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Karesi's Alper Taciroğlu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Şerif Kılıçaslan. Şerif Kılıçaslan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Alper Taciroğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Duman Ruhittin didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-2 via right post in the game's 63rd minute. Karesi's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! SAMSUNSPOR's Şerif Kılıçaslan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save SAMSUNSPOR from getting a goal against them. Eşref Şimşek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oktay Ömür fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zühtü Başat having to interfere. Zühtü Başat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oktay Ömür in the 73rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SAMSUNSPOR's Volkan Filiz got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Eşref Şimşek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. Eşref Şimşek scored 1-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zühtü Başat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle went the supporters of Karesi were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant SAMSUNSPOR side.
