Abdullah Sergen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haşim Saylan, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 80th match minute, Menderes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gürkan Kudsi to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 83 minutes, Hami Orcan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beşiktaş's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hami Orcan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Erberk Cinel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Abdullah Sergen managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Menderes's Erberk Cinel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Özkan Zor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Ogün Songur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
