Yıldıray Bağışhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lefter İlhanoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İhsan Birsen in the 11th minute of play. Özgün Akel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yüksel Kiray in the 14th minute of the match. Karabaglar Fk's Özgün Akel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yüksel Kiray in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yıldıray Bağışhan in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Özgün Akel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Karabaglar Fk's Özgün Akel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yüksel Kiray in the 24th minute of play. Özdemir Özcebe charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Özdemir Özcebe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Özdemir Özcebe kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Yüksel Kiray might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Özgün Akel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yüksel Kiray ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yüksel Kiray in the 31st minute of play forced Karabaglar Fk's goalkeeper Özgün Akel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Edremit FK defense, Gürhan Özkurt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lefter İlhanoğlu. The Edremit FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lefter İlhanoğlu should have stopped the shot. Çelikan Yıldıray hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Lefter İlhanoğlu made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Gürhan Özkurt sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gürhan Özkurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Çelikan Yıldıray hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yüksel Kiray in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Özgün Akel saved Karabaglar Fk from getting behind. A collision led to Karabaglar Fk getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ziya Muammer hit a great ball. If Yıldıray Bağışhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Süleyman Evcimen hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Edremit FK's Yüksel Kiray got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 90 minutes, Gürhan Özkurt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karabaglar Fk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gürhan Özkurt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 92 played minutes Edremit FK got a freekick which was hit by Özdemir Özcebe. Edremit FK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
