In a very dangerous position, a player in Sultanahmet fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! If Aytaç Eroğul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Şerif Şafakoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Uludag FK's Oğuz Tuğyan got a free kick in the 30th minute. Mesut Özbey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Korhan Kavaş's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tansel Sarik during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sultanahmet booed when Uludag FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tansel Sarik didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Korhan Kavaş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sultanahmet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Korhan Kavaş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tansel Sarik was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Özer Güleryüz hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Korhan Kavaş made the kick off in the second half. When Ahmet Nasir Öktuna fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uludag FK's protests and gave Ahmet Nasir Öktuna a yellow card for diving instead.
