Mustafa Hakan Gürler took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Songur Özal. Sivas S.K's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Çakır Pamir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Behçet Doğay made a kick off. Fetih Orbey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arda Emrettin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mavi Şimşekler's zone, Mustafa Ali Saltık stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. İslam Yücesan came out of the goal and Mustafa Ali Saltık tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 75 minutes into the game, when Mithat Özgenay put in a rough tackle. 75 minutes into the game, one of Sivas S.K:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 81 minutes into the match, Mavi Şimşekler's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Ali Saltık came free, but İslam Yücesan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
