Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cevher Savtur started the match with the kick off. Hilmi Kartay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Okan İbrahimoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GÖZTEPE FK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cevher Savtur 7 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. When Timur İrgun fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hocalar's protests and gave Timur İrgun a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hocalar getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Timur İrgun hit a great ball. Okan İbrahimoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hilmi Kartay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Emin Erkılıç in the 17th minute of the match. Hilmi Kartay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Haydar Özsel, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Atak Ozansu placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After 31st play minutes Mustafa Haydar Özsel shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Hilmi Kartay and just under the crossbar into goal. 37 minutes into the match, Hocalar's goal looked a bit too open when Okan İbrahimoğlu came free, but Hilmi Kartay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Cevher Savtur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hocalar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GÖZTEPE FK the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Okan İbrahimoğlu in the 45th minute of play forced Hocalar's goalkeeper Hilmi Kartay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Okan İbrahimoğlu to make the kick off. Hocalar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zekai Özel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Okan İbrahimoğlu struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Hilmi Kartay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GÖZTEPE FK. Okan İbrahimoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. GÖZTEPE FK's Sabahattin Koyak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baransel Turhan in the 70th minute of play. Hocalar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Okan İbrahimoğlu scored to the left of an out of position Hilmi Kartay, making the score, 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mustafa Haydar Özsel got free with Hilmi Kartay in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led GÖZTEPE FK's Ali Orhan Süreyya to fire away a dangerous shot which Hilmi Kartay despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Okan İbrahimoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hocalar's Cevher Savtur got a free kick in the 81st minute. Hilmi Kartay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Okan İbrahimoğlu in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hocalar's zone, Mustafa Haydar Özsel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilmi Kartay came out of the goal and Mustafa Haydar Özsel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hocalar's goalkeeper Hilmi Kartay, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. GÖZTEPE FK's Mustafa Haydar Özsel got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hilmi Kartay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Okan İbrahimoğlu in the 88th minute. Mustafa Haydar Özsel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. GÖZTEPE FK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
