An unexpectedly hard shot by Merih Uğuray in the 5th minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Mustafa Aydoğan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's Doğuş Seyhan got a free kick in the 8th minute. Okan Seyfullah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Okan Seyfullah's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alemdar Cantürk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of FENERBAHÇE booed when Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yaser Ciray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Okan Seyfullah took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alemdar Cantürk. Alemdar Cantürk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's zone, Okan Seyfullah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alemdar Cantürk came out of the goal and Okan Seyfullah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's Alemdar Cantürk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aytekin Tüzünalp in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute Aytekin Tüzünalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alemdar Cantürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes Merih Uğuray rounded FENERBAHÇE's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. 39 minutes into the match, Okan Seyfullah had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alemdar Cantürk. Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Okan Seyfullah was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 45 minutes into the match, Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's goal looked a bit too open when Okan Seyfullah came free, but Alemdar Cantürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü's zone, Aytekin Tüzünalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alemdar Cantürk came out of the goal and Aytekin Tüzünalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half FENERBAHÇE were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Merih Uğuray made a kick off. Alemdar Cantürk came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by FENERBAHÇE's Okan Seyfullah. But to his dismay, Okan Seyfullah quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Yusuf Bahadır Özkutlu hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Aytekin Tüzünalp made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 64thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Alemdar Cantürk would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 69 played minutes FENERBAHÇE got a freekick which was hit by İlkan Sıratullah. Okan Seyfullah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Okan Seyfullah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Alemdar Cantürk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Aytekin Tüzünalp could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Alemdar Cantürk however easily saved by the left post. Yaser Ciray kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Okan Seyfullah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aytekin Tüzünalp came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the FENERBAHÇE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aytekin Tüzünalp couldn't finish the play. Okan Seyfullah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alemdar Cantürk having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FENERBAHÇE's Seyfettin Sarduç got a free kick in the 91st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FENERBAHÇE's Okan Seyfullah slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alemdar Cantürk. That made the score 1-4 after 94 minutes of play. When the match was over FENERBAHÇE could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Çaykur Rize Spor Klubü throughout the match.
