Ender Kamaci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuratay Taran having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sefa Soysaldı in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuratay Taran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th match minute, DÜZCE SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kubat Şanalp to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet Açıkalın took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nuratay Taran. DÜZCE SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Şafak Hazer came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the DÜZCE SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şafak Hazer couldn't finish the play. Sefa Soysaldı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ender Kamaci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute of the match Umut Akıncıbeyoğlu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nuratay Taran skillfully saved the ball. Nazil Özmen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Nuratay Taran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Arif Gaffar Vaha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teoman Akbaba hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sefa Soysaldı in the 47th minute of play forced DÜZCE SK's goalkeeper Nuratay Taran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Merinos JK's Hamdi Tanbolat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Merinos JK from getting a goal against them. A collision led to DÜZCE SK getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Taner Semih hit a great ball. If Sefa Soysaldı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ender Kamaci in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuratay Taran saved DÜZCE SK from getting behind. Hamdi Tanbolat was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Şafak Hazer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 69 minute of play. Nuratay Taran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sefa Soysaldı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuratay Taran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ender Kamaci, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Sefa Soysaldı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuratay Taran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sefa Soysaldı's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Nuratay Taran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sefa Soysaldı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuratay Taran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sefa Soysaldı in the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of Merinos JK booed when DÜZCE SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kubat Şanalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sefa Soysaldı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Merinos JK manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing DÜZCE SK to win.
