The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alaaddin Akburç during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kaplan FK getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. İlyas Tolga Gökekin hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, galatasarays's Birol Akbaş got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Saruhan Tumbay managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. If Ziya Onur Taif had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Kamil Başaran put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ali Haydar İrfan. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Kamil Başaran came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Kaplan FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kamil Başaran couldn't finish the play. Loïc Vigoureux took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yağızhan Uğurtan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Kaplan FK fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Kaplan FK's Kamil Başaran looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kaplan FK's Kamil Başaran got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kamil Başaran might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ali Haydar İrfan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kamil Başaran ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kamil Başaran in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Haydar İrfan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute, Kamil Başaran made a precise shot to the right of Ali Haydar İrfan. galatasarays's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. There was no doubt that Kaplan FK were the better team. Kaplan FK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
