Ali Vedat Ağçelik had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Tugay Ekemen's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mustafa Cumhur Mücip got free with Baybars Ramazanoğulları in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ali Vedat Ağçelik stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sabri Tezcan's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Genclerbirliği's Baybars Ramazanoğulları proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Genclerbirliği from getting a goal against them. 14 minutes into the match, Kars FK's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Emrah Alptekin came free, but Ali Vedat Ağçelik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Baybars Ramazanoğulları took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dursun Ali Kornes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Tugay Ekemen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ali Vedat Ağçelik was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 26th minute of the match Tugay Ekemen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ali Vedat Ağçelik showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Genclerbirliği's supporters rose to their feet, but Tugay Ekemen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
