Refik Halit İşcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tamer Civan having to interfere. After 26th play minutes Engin Ateş shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Tamer Civan and just under the crossbar into goal. Tamer Civan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Engin Ateş in the 29th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Affan Hasankeyf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rdth minute of the game Engin Ateş who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fenerbahçe's Tamer Civan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Engin Ateş in the 45th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Tamer Civan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Engin Ateş was the one to do the kick off.
