Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cevahir Ünveren started the match with the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Akın Ungan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Akın Ungan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olcay Baysal in the 9th minute of play. Cevahir Ünveren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cevahir Ünveren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sadri Karahan hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Sadri Oyanalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akın Ungan having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Nihat Okutan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Turhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nihat Okutan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Istanbul United's Üzeyir Adahan got a free kick in the 25th minute. Nihat Okutan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Akın Ungan having to make a save. Üzeyir Adahan charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Üzeyir Adahan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Üzeyir Adahan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Başar Azim got a throw-in 34 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sadri Oyanalp. In the 37th match minute, Istanbul United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Üzeyir Adahan to maneuver through the defense. Sadri Oyanalp took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Akın Ungan. Istanbul United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Nihat Okutan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Turhal's Akın Ungan threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nihat Okutan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nihat Okutan to strike the kick off in the second half. Cevahir Ünveren's late challenge caught a Turhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cevahir Ünveren helped the player get up and apologised. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Istanbul United! In the 64th minute, Üzeyir Adahan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Istanbul United's zone, Nihat Okutan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akın Ungan came out of the goal and Nihat Okutan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cevahir Ünveren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yavuzalp Tüzmen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Akın Ungan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nihat Okutan in the 76th minute of play. Akın Ungan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nihat Okutan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cevahir Ünveren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Turhal booed when Istanbul United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Üzeyir Adahan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nihat Okutan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akın Ungan having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
