The audience thought a goal was coming when Göktürk Akoğul got free with Akın Ungan in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Akın Ungan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nurkan Sökmensu in the 16th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Cakirlar SK's Akın Ungan threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nurkan Sökmensu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Akın Ungan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mustafa Cumhur Kutbay showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. The referee ignored Istanbul United's protests and gave Refik Halit Koçaslan a yellow card for diving instead. Refik Halit Koçaslan hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Mustafa Cumhur Kutbay came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Cakirlar SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mustafa Cumhur Kutbay couldn't finish the play.
