Cengiz Kurtuluş charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cengiz Kurtuluş the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Kecierengücü getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Cengiz Kurtuluş hit a great ball. Haydar Çeliker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tamer Koralp in the 20th minute of play. Oğuzcan Tuncas short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Haydar Çeliker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kecierengücü's Koray Özkar got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, Yaprakli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balaban Otay to maneuver through the defense. If Koray Özkar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Çelik Bergin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Kecierengücü's zone, Tamer Koralp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haydar Çeliker came out of the goal and Tamer Koralp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Koray Özkar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cevdet Tengizalp having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Koray Özkar was the one to do the kick off. When Orkun Hacıoğlu fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kecierengücü's protests and gave Orkun Hacıoğlu a yellow card for diving instead.
