After a rather tough play, Derbent's Arda Göksel Ülker got a free kick in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Ediz Tanbek got free with Hans-Joachim Grath in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Derbent getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Claes Zachrisson hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Fatih Adar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sinan Ağaoğlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 30th minute, Fatih Adar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derbent fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Hans-Joachim Grath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karahan Temizkanoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Hans-Joachim Grath successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Derbent's zone, Karahan Temizkanoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans-Joachim Grath came out of the goal and Karahan Temizkanoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the match, 陈景昆 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sinan Ağaoğlu. Geçkinli's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 陈景昆 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baycan Kunter in the 45th minute of play forced Geçkinli's goalkeeper Sinan Ağaoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mehmet Ediz Tanbek to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Geçkinli's Mehmet Ediz Tanbek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hans-Joachim Grath narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute of the match Naim Ozanalp sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hans-Joachim Grath skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Mehmet Ediz Tanbek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Joachim Grath was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Hans-Joachim Grath came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Geçkinli's Mehmet Ediz Tanbek. But to his dismay, Mehmet Ediz Tanbek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. In the 81st minute, Baycan Kunter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 84 minutes, Baycan Kunter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derbent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baycan Kunter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baycan Kunter hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Şener Okdağ got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Derbent walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
