The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Altay SK's Abdulbaki Mevlit nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aygün Zoral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Altay SK's Namık Kemal Bardakçı got a free kick in the 8th minute. Hayyam Reşit in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mustafa Ekrem Erincer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Şensoy Dursunali hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Mustafa Ekrem Erincer made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Hayyam Reşit sent off a good shot on target. Cüneyt Çerağ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Aygün Zoral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Hayyam Reşit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Ekrem Erincer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
