But to his dismay, Esen Kökten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ufuk Tulunay was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alpertunga Tanaydin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ekvator Ginesi getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Hristivoj Stoichkov hit a great ball. Ekvator Ginesi's Emir Çile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alpertunga Tanaydin in the 67th minute of play. Emir Çile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esen Kökten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hristivoj Stoichkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Boğaç Regaip made a huge save. 85 minutes into the game, Esen Kökten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Emir Çile was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute Alpertunga Tanaydin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emir Çile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sakirpasa's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
