The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Soma's Ergin Mengüalp got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Ali Behzat Refah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Ziya Ülgen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Berk Hiçsönmez hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Ergin Mengüalp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. Geyikspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ergin Mengüalp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some careless play in the Geyikspor defense, Muzaffer Okcun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. The Geyikspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmet Ziya Ülgen should have stopped the shot. Serkan Tokcan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geyikspor's Ahmet Ziya Ülgen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serkan Tokcan in the 29th minute of play. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Behzat Refah in the 37th minute of the match. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ergin Mengüalp in the 41st minute of play. Ali Behzat Refah scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ahmet Ziya Ülgen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rıfkı Nasih was the one to do the kick off. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Muzaffer Okcun in the 56th minute. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Serkan Tokcan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Behzat Refah in the 65th minute of play forced Geyikspor's goalkeeper Ahmet Ziya Ülgen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mümin Oba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cengizhan Uludağ, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Behzat Refah in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Behlül Talaykan during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Soma booed when Geyikspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Behlül Talaykan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Cengizhan Uludağ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mümin Oba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ergin Mengüalp charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Geyikspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Soma the free kick. Özer Demirağ hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Geyikspor's Ahmet Ziya Ülgen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Behzat Refah in the 83rd minute of play. Ahmet Ziya Ülgen made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Muzaffer Okcun sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute, Ali Behzat Refah reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ahmet Ziya Ülgen. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 91st minute, Muzaffer Okcun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Muzaffer Okcun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Soma's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
