After 17 minutes, Birsel Boran made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Taksim's Ünsal Gökkır tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Yildirim's players were relieved. 29 minutes into the match, Yildirim's goal looked a bit too open when Derviş Akoğul came free, but Şener Dağtekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şener Dağtekin made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Fahri Gagauz sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Yildirim defense, Hikmet Saatçi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şener Dağtekin. The Yildirim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şener Dağtekin should have stopped the shot. The Taksim supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Yildirim's performance. The match ended with a win for Yildirim.
