Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hikmet Saatçi started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Taksim's Başar Urkan got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 13 minutes, Stig-Arne Möller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Richmond and the Taksim players grew even worse after the yellow card. AFC Richmond's Stig-Arne Möller got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When AFC Richmond's Songur Kultigin in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Taksim's zone, Songur Kultigin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ünsal Gökkır came out of the goal and Songur Kultigin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 minutes, Başar Urkan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taksim and the AFC Richmond players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Taksim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Başar Urkan to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Songur Kultigin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ünsal Gökkır was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Songur Kultigin made the kick off in the second half. Gazanfer Özcan Soysaltürk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stig-Arne Möller hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 56 minutes of play, AFC Richmond's Songur Kultigin made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ünsal Gökkır was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gazanfer Özcan Soysaltürk might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cihan Ekiner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gazanfer Özcan Soysaltürk ran back to his position shaking his head. AFC Richmond's Cihan Ekiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gazanfer Özcan Soysaltürk in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Taksim's goal looked a bit too open when Songur Kultigin came free, but Ünsal Gökkır reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Songur Kultigin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ünsal Gökkır was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Ünsal Gökkır stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Songur Kultigin's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Songur Kultigin got free with Ünsal Gökkır in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cihan Ekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hikmet Saatçi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Songur Kultigin in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ünsal Gökkır saved Taksim from getting behind. After 87 played minutes Taksim got a freekick which was hit by Fahri Gagauz. In the 89th minute Hikmet Saatçi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cihan Ekiner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cihan Ekiner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derviş Akoğul in the 90th minute of the match. The supporters of AFC Richmond booed when Taksim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Başar Urkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Songur Kultigin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AFC Richmond played a much better game than Taksim and deserved their victory. The Taksim players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
