Spectators: 6256 (Terracing: 5656, Seating: 600, VIP seats: 0) Athletic Mecidiye SK's Başaran Ceviz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Müfit Başar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Sedat Şölen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as erzurumspor's Ayberk Derim slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sedat Şölen. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. In the 10th minute, Ayberk Derim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The erzurumspor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 13 minutes into the match, Athletic Mecidiye SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ayberk Derim came free, but Sedat Şölen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ayberk Derim made a great header on erzurumspor's corner, it was just that Athletic Mecidiye SK's Sedat Şölen managed to reach the ball for a save. Sedat Şölen came out of the goal and Kubat Uluman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 minutes of play, erzurumspor's Ayberk Derim made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sedat Şölen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ali Orhan İpekçi came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletic Mecidiye SK's Başaran Ceviz. But to his dismay, Başaran Ceviz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The audience was convinced that Başaran Ceviz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ali Orhan İpekçi was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After 26 played minutes erzurumspor got a freekick which was hit by Erdi Eripek. The supporters of Athletic Mecidiye SK booed when erzurumspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sezgin Akbora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Athletic Mecidiye SK's Berker Siyami took a good shot, in the 28th minute, which hit the crossbar above Ali Orhan İpekçi's head, and flew over the goal. erzurumspor's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Athletic Mecidiye SK. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ayberk Derim in the 88th minute of play forced Athletic Mecidiye SK's goalkeeper Sedat Şölen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Ayberk Derim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sedat Şölen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
