He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fenerbahçe SK reached it. In the 13th minute of the match Recep Çiltay shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tolgahan Tuğbay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mirza Saykal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Namık Kemal İzci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eyüp Oğuralp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ercan Müşfik took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eyüp Oğuralp. Fenerbahçe SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Namık Kemal İzci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eyüp Oğuralp having to interfere. Eyüp Oğuralp was a little too slow when Namık Kemal İzci got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-1. After a rather tough play, Cagaloglu's Ercan Müşfik got a free kick in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Hafız Safa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerbahçe SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Hafız Safa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tolgahan Tuğbay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abbas Kazanhan hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Melik İksir came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Fenerbahçe SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melik İksir couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cagaloglu's zone, Melik İksir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tolgahan Tuğbay came out of the goal and Melik İksir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tolgahan Tuğbay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melik İksir in the 38th minute of the match. Hafız Safa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Hafız Safa came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Fenerbahçe SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hafız Safa couldn't finish the play. Namık Kemal İzci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Fenerbahçe SK got a freekick which was hit by Aytekin Ula. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Namık Kemal İzci in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eyüp Oğuralp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 48 minutes into the game, Burhan Gülle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fenerbahçe SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cagaloglu the free kick. In the 48th minute, Burhan Gülle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Namık Kemal İzci was the one to do the kick off. Eyüp Oğuralp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Özal Vafi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 played minutes Cagaloglu got a freekick which was hit by İsmet Türemen. When Abay Sağcan fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe SK's protests and gave Abay Sağcan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abay Sağcan to maneuver through the defense. Mirza Saykal kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Melik İksir blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tolgahan Tuğbay having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Fenerbahçe SK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cagaloglu.
