Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Uğurcan Topay kicked off to start the match. With 4 minutes on the clock, Mürsel Müftüoğlu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rize SK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! The referee gave FENERBAHÇE a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abdullatif Ocakçı, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rize SK's Ali Numan Ortunc. 0-1. In the 10thth minute of the game Abdullatif Ocakçı who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rize SK's Ali Numan Ortunc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Berker Necip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Yesari having to interfere. Aziz Yesari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sümer Hendekli in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, FENERBAHÇE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yıldırım Türkoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Berker Necip struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Aziz Yesari didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rize SK. An unexpectedly hard shot by Çelebi Kayaer in the 24th minute of play forced Rize SK's goalkeeper Ali Numan Ortunc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ali Numan Ortunc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melih Cevdet Üzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melih Cevdet Üzer in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Numan Ortunc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ali Numan Ortunc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdullatif Ocakçı in the 33rd minute of play. Melih Cevdet Üzer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Berker Necip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Yesari having to interfere. If Berker Necip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FENERBAHÇE getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Talip Yesari hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melih Cevdet Üzer was the one to do the kick off. Melih Cevdet Üzer hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Melih Cevdet Üzer came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the FENERBAHÇE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melih Cevdet Üzer couldn't finish the play. Melih Cevdet Üzer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ali Numan Ortunc firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match had been going on for 61 minutes, FENERBAHÇE's Abdullatif Ocakçı got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ali Numan Ortunc. Aziz Yesari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çetin Avcıoğlu in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Yıldırım Türkoğlu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FENERBAHÇE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rize SK the free kick. After 65 played minutes FENERBAHÇE got a freekick which was hit by Yıldırım Türkoğlu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doruk Oyum in the 66th minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Aziz Yesari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Berker Necip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Melih Cevdet Üzer succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 73rd playminute. Berker Necip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Yesari having to interfere. Melih Cevdet Üzer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Ali Numan Ortunc skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of FENERBAHÇE booed when Rize SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berker Necip didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berker Necip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Yesari having to interfere. Berker Necip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Aziz Yesari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Berker Necip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rize SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Berker Necip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Berker Necip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The FENERBAHÇE supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FENERBAHÇE would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
