Fabinho Pombal had several of the İstiklal Spor's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ergincan Cihannur as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ergincan Cihannur was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Fabinho Pombal capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fabinho Pombal really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. A collision led to İstiklal Spor getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Pars Samih hit a great ball. After 14 played minutes İstiklal Spor got a freekick which was hit by Ali Orhan Alp. Ergincan Cihannur was a little too slow when Gustaw Szkaradek got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 3-0. If Gustaw Szkaradek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's Kadri Göçmen got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ali Orhan Alp kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Ergincan Cihannur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho Pombal in the 31st minute of the match. Ergincan Cihannur didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 4-0. Gustaw Szkaradek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ergincan Cihannur was a little too slow when Kadri Göçmen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabinho Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Fabinho Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabinho Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A very good chance for a goal. In the 67th minute, Berkin Abay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabinho Pombal in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ergincan Cihannur saved İstiklal Spor from getting behind. If Fabinho Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ergincan Cihannur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabinho Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Ergincan Cihannur came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's Yaşar Ademoğlu. But to his dismay, Yaşar Ademoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Fabinho Pombal struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ergincan Cihannur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK. If Fabinho Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ergincan Cihannur stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kadri Göçmen's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. If Fabinho Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kadri Göçmen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's goal looked a bit too open when Tuna Kayra came free, but Cesur Polatkılıç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's goalkeeper Cesur Polatkılıç had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Orhan Alp. Fabinho Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Ergincan Cihannur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 98 minutes into the match, Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK's Kadri Göçmen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ergincan Cihannur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK FK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
