The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Meric booed when Kırlıoglu Futbol Kulübü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolunay Karlukhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meric's Abdurrahim Ünalmış was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Serhat Akartürk in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Necmi Sidar struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Kürşat Üçer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kırlıoglu Futbol Kulübü. After a rather tough play, Meric's Osman Ali Köken got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 19th minute Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serhat Akartürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Kırlıoglu Futbol Kulübü's goalkeeper Serhat Akartürk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmet Gündüz Karaoğlan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Necmi Sidar in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kürşat Üçer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osman Ali Köken during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Meric was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osman Ali Köken to maneuver through the defense. After 29 minutes, Abdurrahim Ünalmış mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meric and the Kırlıoglu Futbol Kulübü players grew even worse after the yellow card. Meric's Kürşat Üçer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Necmi Sidar in the 38th minute of play. Kürşat Üçer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seyhun Vecid, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. İlbey Tokhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serhat Akartürk having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Necmi Sidar to strike the kick off in the second half. Kürşat Üçer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferit Gökdoğan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferit Gökdoğan hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers İlbey Tokhan in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serhat Akartürk saved Kırlıoglu Futbol Kulübü from getting behind. Mehmet Akif Yalaza kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Serhat Akartürk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Çetin Necip, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Meric's goal looked a bit too open when Ferit Gökdoğan came free, but Kürşat Üçer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Meric got a freekick which was hit by Osman Ali Köken. Kürşat Üçer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Necmi Sidar in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Necmi Sidar in the 91st minute of play forced Meric's goalkeeper Kürşat Üçer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Meric had won after a very even match.
