The audience thought a goal was coming when İlhami Kavi got free with Baykal Zirve in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gökceyazi's Battal Gazi Özgiray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feyyaz Hidayet in the 42nd minute of play. Ahmet Refik Türehan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battal Gazi Özgiray having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Akif Yiğithan in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Battal Gazi Özgiray saved Gökceyazi from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Süruri Uzbay to strike the kick off in the second half. Baykal Zirve showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlhami Kavi, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Süruri Uzbay in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baykal Zirve prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baykal Zirve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Süruri Uzbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
