In the 21st match minute, Karsiyaka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Songurhan Taib to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Gökmen Şafakgün dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Teoman Kuntman, 1-0. When Enes Özpolat came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Karsiyaka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enes Özpolat couldn't finish the play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teoman Kuntman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murathan Kadirsah in the 96th minute of play.
