In the 45th minute of the match, Uygur Terim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Haldun Bayır saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

Göktürk Betim charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Göktürk Betim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Göztepe booed when Gocamanlar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göktürk Betim didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Teoman Tatu came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Göztepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teoman Tatu couldn't finish the play. Teoman Tatu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the game, Uygur Terim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gocamanlar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Göztepe the free kick.
