The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Levent Kalender made a precise shot to the right of Cezmi Tapık. Bahcesaray's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cezmi Tapık showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Levent Kalender, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Tahir Çağkar's late challenge caught a Erzinspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tahir Çağkar helped the player get up and apologised. Tahir Çağkar kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ayvaz İlkim in the 16th minute of play forced Bahcesaray's goalkeeper Cezmi Tapık to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cezmi Tapık took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gürsel Derem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezmi Tapık was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmet Sedat İpekçi to make the kick off. If Ayvaz İlkim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute of the match Tahir Çağkar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mahir Özay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Bahcesaray's goalkeeper Cezmi Tapık had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gürsel Derem. İlhami Ulun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Ahmet Sedat İpekçi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Cezmi Tapık was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Bahcesaray defense, Ahmet Sedat İpekçi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cezmi Tapık. The Bahcesaray fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cezmi Tapık should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Levent Kalender kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cezmi Tapık. That made the score 2-7 in the 71 minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Erzinspor's Ayvaz İlkim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cezmi Tapık made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-8. Bahcesaray's Cezmi Tapık proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Bahcesaray from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Ceyhan Oba in the 83rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bahcesaray's Gürcan Haymanalı. Ceyhan Oba made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gürsel Derem. Cezmi Tapık was a little too slow when Gürsel Derem got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 2-9. 90 minutes into the game, Koray Bilgen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Erzinspor's Salih Salik quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Bahcesaray's Cezmi Tapık played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salih Salik in the 90th minute of play. When the match was over Erzinspor could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bahcesaray throughout the match.
