When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mümtazer Hatip made a kick off. Bernard Rodenboog made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jair Arizmendi in the 51st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Özer Yılğıralp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernard Rodenboog was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. The referee ignored Orlando Pirates's protests and gave Özer Yılğıralp a yellow card for diving instead.
