The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yusuf Bahadır Semdin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehmet Halis Şensoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. When Sedat Okkan came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Lara FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sedat Okkan couldn't finish the play. Lara FK's Abdullah Taşgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kutluay Hekimbaşı in the 6th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Çetin Teber in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abdullah Taşgan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Askale's Mehmet Halis Şensoy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Askale from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Askale's Mehmet Halis Şensoy got control of the ball when Songurhan Özbek tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Askale's goalkeeper Mehmet Halis Şensoy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sedat Okkan. Çetin Teber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdullah Taşgan having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Rafet Önder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Çetin Teber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Askale's Mehmet Halis Şensoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yusuf Bahadır Semdin in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Kutluay Hekimbaşı made a precise shot to the right of Abdullah Taşgan. Lara FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 47th minute, Kutluay Hekimbaşı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kutluay Hekimbaşı was the one to do the kick off. Çetin Teber struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Abdullah Taşgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Askale. After having played for 58 minutes, Çetin Teber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Askale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Çetin Teber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abdullah Taşgan made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Çetin Teber sent off a good shot on target. If Wiktor Niedbalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Kutluay Hekimbaşı took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Abdullah Taşgan to make any attempt to save it. 69 minutes into the game, Rafet Önder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lara FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Askale the free kick. Rafet Önder kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Lara FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafet Önder to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet İlke İzzet charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ahmet İlke İzzet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Lara FK booed when Askale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet İlke İzzet didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sedat Okkan in the 74th minute of play forced Askale's goalkeeper Mehmet Halis Şensoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet İlke İzzet kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Lara FK's Abdullah Taşgan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Lara FK from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the match, Askale's Kutluay Hekimbaşı sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abdullah Taşgan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lara FK's Halil Merih got a free kick in the 89th minute. Kutluay Hekimbaşı struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Abdullah Taşgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Askale. Abdullah Taşgan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Çetin Teber in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, Askale's Çetin Teber got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Askale supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Askale would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
